Created by Andrews&Lynch in collaboration with the Physical Chemistry Group at Leeds University. Phase Revival is an immersive kinetic installation, inspired by the physics of spectroscopy and molecules. With music composed by Jon Hughes, based on the oscillations of the installation itself. Andrews&Lynch are Becs Andrews and Dave Lynch. Dave is a film maker, projectionist and inventor.
At the time of making Phase Revival, Becs was the DARE fellow in Scenography at Opera North and Leeds University. She was also a brilliant stage designer and creative mind with a very busy and exciting freelance career.
Very sadly, Becs died in January 2015. She was a close friend and a lovely person, and is missed by all who new her.
Phase Revival has been performed a number of times, including at Operal North’s Howard Assembly Rooms in 2013. It was seen by over 5000 people recently at Leeds Light Night, October 2016, and also by a similar crowd back in October 2013.
Phase Revival was funded by Royal Society of Chemistry & DARE.
